I tallied up the results from the comments in my previous post (where I asked about the best time of day to exercise). It seems that right now the majority of people try to fit it in the evenings. However, two of you noted that you’d prefer mornings but due to weather you’re stuck with working out in the evenings. Some of you pointed out that I just need to make time and stick with it. So, I’m going to take my cue from the you flexible-scheduling people there and exercise in the evenings– starting today.
Dr. Man and I took the Dixie Dog for a nice, brisk walk this evening. We’re going to try to do this three or four times a week. I figure if I start out with something small and achievable, I just might reach my goal.
It is also so good for your relationship to go walking together – you can just chat about anything without just talking about the day to day stuff like what’s for dinner and who is taking the car tomorrow! 🙂
I am a morning person and love running in the morning. I often run to work at 5am but I live in Australia (it was 43 degrees the other day – I think that is about 110F) so mornings are really the only option at the moment!
I hope you manage to find an equilibrium in the work/life/exercise balance! x
It’s neat that you tallied up the results of your informal poll – so science-like! I know other people who walk or run after work, partly because I think a lot of people hate to get up too early in the morning. And dog’s are good at inspiring (demanding?) walks.
Emily: Living in the southern hemisphere definitely has its perks during these months. You’re right going on walks has been nice for us. We try to just chat about fun things rather than the bills and stuff.
Silver Fox: It’s a hard habit to break! It never occurred to me to not tally the results. I don’t know what that says about me 🙂
